A note from the CEO

It’s been a journey.

I designed the issue model behind TSC between red-eye flights, while leading corporate affairs for a large technology company in an earlier age of the internet.

The problem then is the problem now. An issue starts as a quiet signal. It becomes a conversation, then a campaign, then a hearing, then a law. At every step the cost to the company rises and its room to shape the outcome shrinks. The teams responsible for that outside world were working with press clippings, spreadsheets and memory, and they were nearly always late.

So I drew the issue lifecycle and started working to the left of it. Find the signal while it is still a signal. Know who is moving it and who they listen to. Act before the cost arrives. It worked, and when I left I founded a company in Singapore to build the system that would make it repeatable.

Genie is the fifth generation of that system. It holds more data than any team could read and connects it to the people who matter to a mandate. But the model has not changed. See the field early. Know the people. Act while it still counts.

Why we exist

Nobody was building for the people who own the outcome.

Corporate diplomacy is changing faster than the tools built for it. The people who hold a company’s licence to operate now face more actors, moving faster, across more channels, and they are expected to show results rather than coverage.

The market has answered with volume. Monitoring sold by the seat, dashboards nobody reads, generic AI summarising the same feeds for every client. Depth sits with advisers whose work leaves with them when the engagement ends.

We took a different view. A corporate diplomat’s intelligence should compound, and it should belong to the organisation.

How we work

We deploy teams around the problem.

We work in small teams around a client’s mission. Engineers deployed into the problem, data scientists who shape the data to the question, and analysts who govern the read. Genie does the work that used to need headcount, so the people on an engagement spend their time on judgement.

We do not ask a client to tear anything out. Where advisers and frameworks already exist, we work alongside them and do the parts they cannot.
